My First Trip to KSU

Kansas State University's campus resembles castle grounds more than it does a college campus. Built during the late 1800s, dorm and study halls alike are built from the limestone natural to the Flint Hills area of Kansas. We had the opportunity to introduce Carla to KSU for the 2008 Spring Football Game. Here are some of our favorite shots from the visit.

Me and Daddy watching the Cats play!
All in purple.
At the Spring Game.
John and Carla at Eisenhower Hall where John took most of his classes.

John and Carla in front of Hale Library.
John and Carla in front of Van Zile Hall where John lived while he attended KSU.

Annual Purple and White Game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium

How could you not love this historic campus?
A purple tree - campus was full of them.
Close up of the tree. If anyone knows what this is, I would love to plant one at home.

We encourage Carla to check out the entire Kansas Flint Hills region. Neat stories and photos!

I really enjoy my Google Alert for Blogs on “Kansas Flint Hills!”
Yours came up today!
Our 22 county Flint Hills Tourism Coalition, Inc. promotes visits to the Kansas Flint Hills – the website is: http://www.kansasflinthills.travel/
Hard to believe it has been over a year now since the 22 page color photo spread in National Geographic’s April 2007 Issue on the Kansas Flint Hills, as a distinctive landscape. We are now working to get the Kansas Flint Hills designated as a National Heritage Area.
We would appreciate a link from your site, to ours, if you are willing to do so. THANKS!
Best wishes!
Dr. Bill ;-)
